Columbia River Treaty talks to resume in December

The second round of negotiations for the Columbia River Treaty took place in Portland last week.

Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy says topics discussed included flood risk management in the Columbia Basin and Libby Dam operations.

She says the discussions are still at an early stage and are a time to build relationships and common ground.

The next meetings happen Dec. 12 and 13 in Vancouver.

They began in Nelson this past August.
