Creston Mayor Ron Toyota narrowly kept his seat Saturday.
He beat competitors Mary Jayne Blackmore and Bill Hutchinson. The fire hall referendum passed, which Toyota says sends a great message.
“Yeah, I’m glad that I’m back in there, but I think the biggest one was the referendum vote and that to me was more important.”
Mayor Toyota also states that the passing of the referendum sends a big message to the volunteer firefighters that the town of Creston supports them.
Toyota is currently on vacation following his victory. The new council will be inaugurated on November 6.
