The RDCK has finally put their foot down on a serious example of an unsightly property.
They’ve given the owner of a residence on granite road outside Nelson a month to clean out old appliances, scrap metal, lumber, tires and other items.
If he doesn’t the Regional District will hire a contractor to do it and send him the bill.
Also he has until June 1st to get as many as 111 old rusting vehicles taken away.
Rural Director Ramona Faust says such unsightly premises issues usually don’t get to the board table.
Many locals have complained the property looks like a junk yard.
