Gatekeeper program promotes suicide prevention

The Gatekeeper Program will see potential participants being equipped with the proper information needed to identify those at risk for suicide.

Here’s Rona Park, Executive Director for Nelson Community Services.

Anybody can become a gatekeeper as long as they are over the age of fifteen.

Some examples are teens who can be trained to notice abrupt changes in a classmate’s attitude, or people in a role of trust such as coaches, teachers or police officers.
