Nelsonites can put their money where their mouths are on the proposed solar energy project from November 17th.
That’s when the community buy-in offer will be rolled out.
It will last one month and they’ll be able to buy up to ten solar panels for a maximum of $923 each.
Project Coordinator Carmen Proctor says they’re looking at a modest start of 150 panel sales but there may be big public interest.
Investors would get an annual solar credit on their hydro bill over a 25 year contract and start seeing a return on their investment after about ten years.
They can sell, transfer or donate their stake if they move away.
The public offering goes at the Best Western at 6-30 pm on November 17th.
