Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce to host provincial election public forum

The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a public forum for the upcoming Provincial Election.

This important event will take place at the Kootenay River Secondary School Auditorium on Wednesday, October 9, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm.

The forum will feature all four candidates running for the Kootenay-Central area:

This forum provides an opportunity for the community to hear directly from the candidates on four key topics that are especially important to residents of the Creston Valley and Kootenay Lake areas: Health Care, Climate Action, Local Economy, and Local Housing Issues.

We are honored to have Rita Scott, a retired lawyer and community advocate, serve as the moderator for this event. Ms. Scott is well-known for her commitment to fostering meaningful community dialogue.

“In a community like Creston, every voice matters, and forums like this allow us to come together to hear the perspectives that shape our future. It’s about building understanding and empowering citizens to make informed choices.” said Scott.

The forum will be conducted as a non-partisan event, ensuring all viewpoints are presented fairly. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live-streamed via a link available on the Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce website. A recording of the forum will also be made available to ensure multiple ways for residents to access this critical discussion.

The Creston Valley Chamber of Commerce, along with its partners, encourages all residents to take part in this valuable opportunity to engage with the candidates and discuss the issues that matter most to our community.

The election date is Saturday, October 19.
