The closure of Yahk’s only school would be a major loss for the community.
This from resident Dave St Germain following a vote by SD 8 trustees to follow through with permanently shutting it down.
St Germain says he hopes they can find a way to keep the building open and used in some form or another.
Yahk Elementary has seen a major decrease in numbers with only three students this past year and zero enrolled in the fall.
The board will make its final decisions at a meeting next week.
