Fall Fair in full swing

The Creston Valley Fall Fair kicks off at 2:00 PM, this Friday, September 7.
Creston Valley Fall Fair president, Randy Meyer, shares his excitement.
“We have a lot of stuff planned. I would say we’re going to have a pretty full house at the rec centre, commercial booths and all the spaces are filled up. Some stuff we do every year and a lot of things, we’re doing special this year.”
Meyer says there are a lot of entries for classes, special guests and vendors. He goes on to describe the opening ceremony plans.
“Friday at 5:00 we’ll have some dignitaries to say a few words and then we got a great big anniversary cake made up from one of our local bakeries. We’ll have a big cake cutting event and everyone will get a piece of cake!”
Meyer looks forward to a full house with festivities, livestock and displays including a collection of classic cars courtesy of Creston Cruisers. He adds a display of antique tractors will also be featured thanks to Creston Valley farmers.

Meyer notes the Fall Fair’s humble beginnings in 1918 and says he’s proud to see how it has evolved. A local food feast will take place at the Community complex upstairs in the Creston Room after the fair on Saturday evening.

The feast will feature 100 per cent locally sourced dishes and live country band from Vancouver, the Heels.
The Heels are a female Country Rock Band from Vancouver
For the 100th anniversary, Meyer is pleased to announce a third night.
“We have a Tribute Band coming in and they will be doing two shows at the PCSS auditorium.  At 2:00 PM they are doing an ABBA tribute and at 7:00 PM they are doing a Fleetwood Mac tribute. They look the part and they sound the part and it’s gonna be great shows [sic].”
Juice FM and the crew will have a booth set up and will have two draws daily for a $5.00 Dairy Queen gift card.
We will see you there!
