Probation for woman in Creston Valley stabbing

A local woman who admitted to stabbing her partner multiple times has been sentenced to two years probation.

Martina Basil, who was born in 1995, also received a 10-year firearms ban when she was sentenced last week in Creston Provincial Court.

She pleaded guilty last August to one count of assault causing bodily harm. The incident occurred on June 4, 2022.

Basil will return to court on Aug. 3 on a related breach of release charge, alleged to have occurred on June 18 of this year.
