A cougar sighting has been reported in Nelson.
Police say it happened about 6 am Tuesday at the intersection of Carbonate and Cherry Streets which is quite close to the rail-trail.
Officers located some tracks and notified the conservation office.
The cougar was not located and no other reports have been received.
