Funding allocated for permanent teen space

The quest for a permanent social facility for teens in the Creston area has been given a financial boost.

The Creston Valley Services Committee has agreed to kick in $15, 000 annually towards the costs, until the end of 2019.

Chair Larry Binks says the teens have been using the Snoring Sasquatch on a trial basis since last June.

He says it is central and convenient, but not enough.

Binks says they need to find the new location soon as the lease at the Sasquatch is up this June.

The funding is earmarked to cover rent, utilities, furniture, maintenance and amenities.
