The Ministry of Transportation is mulling either upgrading the Balfour terminal or moving it to Queens Bay.

It if stays put a new ferry would have to be built to replace the aging MV Balfour.

It the terminal moves, a new ferry won’t be necessary and the crossing time would be reduced but a popular beach would be lost.

The ministry says the status quo isn’t an option.
