Salmo film premieres

Salmo village council chambers was filled to the brim this week as community members came to view the premiere of a three-minute film commissioned by the village titled Where All Roads Lead.

The film was produced as part of the public consultation and asset mapping process planned for the development of a new official community plan for the village called Sustainable Salmo.

The film showcases the community priorities, assets, values and vision of the people of Salmo as identified in a Sustainable Salmo survey completed by ten percent of the population and Salmo lifestyle photo contest which had 40 submissions and over 2,200 votes cast. These priorities, in order, are clean air and water, access to nature, sense of community, peace and quiet, lifestyle, and affordability. Over 100 Salmo residents participated in making the film.

The stars of the film are Salmo residents and include voice over by renown motion picture artist Andy Geller (trailers for Finding Nemo, Armageddon, and The Sixth Sense) and an appearance by eight time Grammy award winning electronic music artist Skrillex.
