Creston braves weather for Remembrance Day ceremony

With the sound of bagpipes echoing through the valley, the people of Creston stood strong against the somewhat chilly air of November 11, 2022: Remembrance Day.

Last year was the first in-person ceremony since the pandemic, and 2022’s proved just as meaningful.

A parade marched up towards the cenotaph, carrying flags and pride.

After stopping before the cenotaph, the parade stood still as planes flew over the ceremony.

Those in attendance then stood still as a moment of silence hung over the ceremony.

Community members proceeded to lay wreaths at the base of the cenotaph as onlookers remembered those who fought and died for our freedom.

Prior to the ceremony, there was a Service of Remembrance within the legion.
