The Lower Kootenay Band has elected Jared Basil and Josie Fullarton to the two vacancies on council.
They won Wednesday’s extremely tight race in which nine votes separated first from fourth.
The exact totals were: Basil 28, Fullarton 25, Carol Louie 20, and Chris Luke Jr. 19.
Turnout was only 29 per cent, with 49 of 170 eligible voters casting ballots.
Basil is an incumbent. He and Fullarton will serve four-year terms.
