Community Futures recognizes Rob Schwieger

Community Futures Central Kootenay has named their 2016 volunteer of the year.

Rob Schwieger of Gray Creek was chosen as this year’s recipient.

He says he appreciates the recognition but is modest about it.

Schwieger joined the Community Futures board in 1997 and was appointed vice-chair in 2007.

He owned and operated Northern Woven Broom Company in Crawford Bay.

In presenting him with the award, Community Futures said: “Over the years Rob has spent countless hours reviewing business proposals for prospective clients. His knowledge, community connections, and generous spirit have made him a sought-after mentor to fellow entrepreneurs in the Central Kootenay.”

Community Futures Central Kootenay is a non-profit economic development organization with offices in Creston, nelson, and Nakusp.
