Kootenay residents can have their say about ferry changes
MV Balfour on Kootenay Lake
The Ministry of Transportation has announced more public consultation on changes to the Kootenay Lake ferry service.
At the end of the month there will be open houses in Balfour, Nelson and Crawford Bay.
Nelson-Creston MLA Michelle Mungall says they’ll be discussing new improvements and new ferry options.
As well the ferry service will be altered slightly due to low water.
At the end of February the MV Osprey will be carrying half it’s capacity and the MV Balfour will be sailing solo in March.
Mungall says one of the things they’ll be looking at during the public consultation process is dredging.
Consultation begins February 19th.
