Destination BC unveiled the final draft of the Highway 3 development strategy

The Destination BC Highway 3 Development Strategy was launched in Creston.

The provincial government has been working with the Mayors and Chairs Coalition to learn how to best promote tourism from Hope to the Alberta border. The 10-year strategy involves six key themes and 82 objectives.

Rossland mayor and Tourism Sub-committee Chair Kathy Moore says they’ll be engaging with all the community members next.

Within the themes stakeholders listed sustainable housing, promoting business, creating attractions and preserving the environment as priorities.

Moore says that the infrastructure of the highway has improved it is poised for tourism success.

The next steps for the strategy are engaging local communities to participate.
