The Creston Education Centre will remain open.
The Kootenay Lake School Board decided to keep the centre open with the programs intact at their monthly board meeting Tuesday night. The meeting agenda included review of a series of letters from parents in the community expressing their unhappiness about the closure.
A group of Creston residents have been fighting the closure for the past several months. SD8 announced in January they would officially close the centre in June.
