Residents warned to watch out for scam email and text messages

Tax season is wrapping up but scam emails and text messages could still be going around.

Potential scammers can use tax season as a prime time for sending out messages saying they’re from the Canadian Revenue Agency. RCMP S/Sgt. Ryan Currie says it’s important not to click on links or give out any information.

He says scams are difficult to track but the RCMP do have a reporting system.

If you suspect a scam message contact the CRA or local RCMP.
