Another update from the Creston Fire Hall Advisory Select Committee after their 13th meeting on Wednesday. Ernie Polsom with Firewise Consulting says the square footage needs for a new fire hall were identified at roughly 13,400 square feet. He says they’ve rounded that up to 14,000.
Polsom also wants to clarify that the borrowing amount is a worst case scenario for the total cost of the project.
He says there have been some discussions around where the best location is for the fire hall.
Polsom feels the lot on Cook Street is the best location, not only because of size, but the remediation costs that would be needed on Cedar Street.
