The Town of Creston announced the appointment of Jared Riel, Assistant Fire Chief with Creston Fire Rescue, to Acting Fire Chief. The Town says Riel has 12 years experience with fire service and will ensure continuity during this transitional time. Mayor Ron Toyota feels it will be a seamless transition as Reil has an existing rapport with the volunteer firefighters and regional departments.
Captain Randall Fabbro with Creston Fire Rescue will be assuming some of the Assistant Fire Chief duties.
Fire Chief Michael Moore is currently filling the interim Chief Administrative Officer position with the Town and will return to his position after council finds a permanent replacement following the election.
