Larry Binks pin-points the end of his incumbency

Larry Binks gave an in depth interview to the mycrestonnow.com newsroom underlining many of his successes and defining moments, including those that pressured Binks into vacating position of regional director in Rural Area C.

The full interview can be found here.

Larry Binks also shared some of his past experiences as regional director, work with troubled youth and events leading up to his departure from politics, including having his dog poisoned for his staunch support for the new fire hall.

“Somebody did poison my dog four years ago. Threw garbage on my property, that that was over this referendum over the fire hall. They threw meat soaked in blood thinners and windshield antifreeze, and i spend $583.00 just to get the blood work done to find out exactly what caused her death.”

Pinpointing the exact moment he decided to leave politics, Binks details his journey home from the UMBC meeting held in Whistler last September.

“I just phoned my wife to let her know where I was and how things were going on the trip and she told me that she’d been receiving phone calls and she see anything big about it. But I took offence tho them right away. And on that trip, within 20 minutes of talking with my wife, I said I had enough of this foolishness.”

Binks said these acts were unconscionable and that no person serving as a public servant deserves to be treated so horribly. When asked if he will leave the Valley for a short vacation, Binks said he would rather stay in Creston due to his wife’s health an continue his service to the community.
