RDCK Director pleased with land deal

A local rural politician is applauding the approval of the land deal between the Lower Kootenay Band and RDCK.

Area-A Director, Garry Jackman says it was a long process but both sides are benefiting.

The agreement sees the Band surrendering 22 acres of land, next to the Creston landfill, to the RDCK.

In exchange, they receive a 475-acre parcel along the south arm of Kootenay Lake giving them direct access to the water for the first time in over 100 years.
