A mock train derailment this week tested the Regional District of Central Kootenay’s emergency response.
They faced a hypothetical train derailment and chemical spill at Procter.
Chair Karen Hamling says it demonstrates their commitment to preparedness.
The exercise also involved four fire departments, CP Rail, the RCMP and Ministry of Environment.
