Police received 63 calls for assistance from April 16 to April 23, 2019.

 

April 16, 2019

  • Report of a theft of tools from a work truck parked at a hotel in Creston.
  • Report of suspicious people and a possible break and enter in Sirdar. Nelson RCMP intercepted a vehicle with the suspects after learning they were on the ferry. The suspects are facing charges relating to thefts in the area.

April 17, 2019

  • Investigated a vehicle theft in Creston.
  • Report of harassing communications from a disgruntled bill payer.
  • Report of an unknown male entering a residence in Creston. Possibly stole a TV box.
  • Report of harassment over social media due to a disagreement.
  • Investigated a shoplifting at a local business.
  • Report of an aggressive dog in a vehicle in Creston. Report forwarded to Bylaw Services.
  • Intervened in a dispute between neighbours over an aggressive dog.

April 18, 2019

  • A vehicle stop in West Creston resulted in the drinking driver receiving a 24 hour licence suspension due to the low level of alcohol in his blood.
  • Called to Check on the well being of a person walking on Highway 3A talking to himself. Police located the male and insured that he was okay.
  • Called to intervene in an alcohol fueled fight during a game of Yahtzee.
  • Report of intentional damage to a vehicle parked at a local business with a profane note complaining about the victim’s parking.
  • Referred a report of possible cruelty to an animal to Bylaw and SPCA.

April 19, 2019

  • A report of a family disturbance involving threats resulted in one person being arrested and held due to his being on probation and having an arrest warrant.

 

April 20, 2019

  • Investigated a possible break and enter to a residence. Nothing taken.
  • Called to a neighbour dispute over dogs running free in Kingsgate.
  • A report of a possible stolen dog in Erickson was found to be a person who kenneled the dog after it had gotten free from the owner
  • Report of an attempted theft of a vehicle in Creston. Victim advised to lock doors.
  • Report of a domestic assault. Parties separated and charges are pending.
  • Report of a suspicious light on Mt. Thompson. Turned out to be a communications tower.
  • A report of a male urinating on the side of the road in Lister resulted in the intoxicated person being held in police cells until sober.

April 21, 2019

  • Called to a disturbance involving an intoxicated male yelling outside a residence. The male was advised to go home unless he wished to spend a night in police cells. The male complied.
  • Investigated a complaint regarding drone flying in Creston.
  • Called to complaint about a fight outside a Creston business.

April 22, 2019

  • Report of a possible break and enter to a trailer in Boswell. Nothing damaged or taken.
  • Called to a civil dispute in Crawford bay.
  • Report of a possibly impaired driver leaving a local business. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
