New bear-proof garbage bins and a two week collection system could be a reality in Castlegar.
Residents were given a look Tuesday at the proposed changes during a round of public consultation.
Councilor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff says the bins have undergone some proactive testing.
Castlegar City Council will vote on whether or not to change the waste management plan on at a later date.
Those who were unable to attend Tuesday can still voice their opinion on a survey available through the city of Castlegar’s website Friday.
