Another premiere for the Nelson Community Opera this weekend.
The made-in-Nelson production Jorinda opens at the Capitol Theatre Thursday night.
Producer Marty Horswill says it is truly unique in that the singers are on stage but leave the acting to dancers and puppets who are front and centre.
The opera is composed by Nelson’s Doug Jamieson.
The cast are all volunteers so the run is limited to three days at this stage.
This is the second world premiere of a made-in-Nelson opera following Khaos a few years ago.
