Good start for solar array sales

This week’s launch of pre-sales for Nelson’s planned solar array power project was a big success.

Almost half of the minimum 150 panels needed to get going were snapped up by buyers.

The public has a month to buy-in at a maximum of $923 each.

Ecosave Program Coordinator Carmen Proctor says it’s important for the community to know Nelson Hydro can’t produce any more power on Kootenay River.

That’s because it’s already fully subscribed.

Proctor adds most people who invest in the project will see the same sort of rebate on their hydro bill as if they’d put solar panels on their own property.
