At least one local rural politician is committing funds for a new regional BC SPCA facility …if it is to be built in Castlegar.
Andy Davidoff the director for Area I – which includes the likes of Pass Creek, Thrums and Shoreacres – says he will contribute $25,000 in grants.
The SPCA is committed to shutting the Trail site down next year and a new one could cost up to $1.6 million.
They have asked the RDCK for a $50,000 grant.
The mayor of Castlegar says the city is looking at a possible land offer to the agency.
