The planned solar power project for Nelson just got a bit cheaper.
Canadian company Bullfrog Power has announced it will offer an additional grant.
Ecosave Program Co-ordinator with Nelson Hydro Carmen Proctor says the company has been onboard since the beginning.
This investment brings the estimated price per panel down to about $850 and should reduce the pay-back period to between 12 and 15 years.
Proctor says 95 of 150 panels needed to get underway next spring have now been sold to the public.
