Mayor reacts to decrease in Trail property assessment value

Figures from the BC Assessment list of property valuations for our region are not where the Mayor of Trail would like them to be.

Mike Martin is speaking in light of a 6% decrease of value in Trail’s property assessments.

A typical home has decreased in assessed value from $165,000 dollars to $155,000.

Martin says the numbers add to the city’s resolve to continue revitalizing the downtown area.

Projects such as the new Pipe-Pedestrian Bridge, the Riverfront Centre Library Museum and the rejuvenated Silver City Days Festival are all aimed partially at attracting and retaining a young and vibrant community.
