Nelson pastor wants more support from Nelson council

The man behind an affordable rental development in Nelson’s downtown wants more support from city council.

The 42-unit project for working adults has been put forward by Pastor Jim Reimer and Kootenay Christian Fellowship.

The city looks set to donate some land for an emergency access route. But at this stage there is no offer of the hundreds of thousands of dollars in fee waivers or in-kind help Reimer is looking for.

Meanwhile city staff are recommending council approve a letter of support for an affordable seniors development in Fairview proposed by Nelson Cares Society.
