New guidelines for activities allowed on farmland

The BC government has clarified the rules around what commercial activities are allowed on farmland.

Weddings and concerts are a go without a permit from the agricultural land commission.

As are farm tours, hayrides, harvest fairs and special occasion events to promote farm products.

But conditions and restrictions apply.

Creston Farmer Bill Truscott welcomes the changes.

The province was under fire last fall for a crackdown on farm weddings.
