Fortis BC has is reporting a significant power outage throughout the Creston Valley and surrounding areas.
According to a recording on the company’s toll free number communities affected include parts of Kingsgate, Yahk, Kitchener, Lister, Canyon, Erickson, Creston, Wynndel and West Creston.
It was caused by a motor vehicle incident around 12:50 p.m.
As of 8:30 p.m, the estimated time of full restoration for these communities is 10 p.m.

However a second outage affecting Boswell, Gray Creek, Kootenay Bay and Crawford Bay has no estimated time of restoration.
There is also no indication as to its cause.
