Local highways contractor YRB is bracing for warming temperatures and wet rain and snow today and tomorrow.
Operations manager Marc Dale has some advice for motorists.
The Kootenay Pass will be closed for avalanche control from 6 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Dale says be aware of the potential for flash freezing at dusk and in the morning.
There could also be slushy conditions as compact snow begins to break up.
