Open house planned on Arrow Creek borrowing

An open house next Wednesday will discuss financing the last phase of the Arrow Creek water system upgrade.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay wants to borrow $1.4 million but needs community approval.

Rural Creston director Tanya Wall says the meeting is at the recreation complex from 4 to 8 p.m.

If about 500 people sign a petition opposing the move by Feb. 27 the borrowing wouldn’t go ahead.

But Wall says that would be a shame.

The project has already received over an infrastructure grant worth over $4 million.
