An open house next Wednesday will discuss financing the last phase of the Arrow Creek water system upgrade.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay wants to borrow $1.4 million but needs community approval.
Rural Creston director Tanya Wall says the meeting is at the recreation complex from 4 to 8 p.m.
If about 500 people sign a petition opposing the move by Feb. 27 the borrowing wouldn’t go ahead.

But Wall says that would be a shame.
The project has already received over an infrastructure grant worth over $4 million.
