Status quo favoured on council size

Creston’s mayor says the town will probably stick with its seven-member council.

Ron Toyota recently broached the idea of reducing it to five.

He says feedback has been mixed but on the whole people seem content with the way things are now.

Toyota raised the subject because Lantzville on Vancouver Island voted to reduce its council size.

Meanwhile no date has been set for Creston’s by-election but Toyota expects it’ll be in May or June.
